Founding Principal
Myra A. Tanamor, M.P.P., is a Founding Principal of L&M Policy Research and has spent more than 20 years working on health care financing, delivery and health communication strategies. She has extensive project management experience, directing many small- and large-scale qualitative studies for the federal government, non-profit organizations, foundations, and professional associations. These studies have included focus groups, in-depth interviews, site visits, and surveys with a focus on the elderly and low-income populations (particularly those eligible for Medicare and Medicaid), individuals with chronic conditions and disabilities and their caregivers, health care providers and administrators, small employers and employees, and advocacy organizations.
Ms. Tanamor is currently directing a consumer research project to support the improvement of Healthcare.gov, with a particular emphasis on the consumer experience of the website for individuals for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). She has served as Project Director on several CMS projects examining how Medicare consumers use quality information when choosing health plans, providers and prescription drug plans. Additionally, Ms. Tanamor is the subcontractor project director that assists CMS in implementing several hospital quality reporting programs, including the Hospital-Acquired Condition Reduction Program (HACRP) and the Hospital Readmission Reduction Program (HRRP).
Ms. Tanamor holds a Master of Public Policy with a concentration in health policy from Georgetown University Public Policy Institute (now the McCourt School of Public Policy) and a Bachelor of Arts in psychology with a minor in political science from Northwestern University.
