Research Coordinator
Amanda Szymanski is a Research Coordinator at L&M Policy Research with 14 years of experience in health policy and social science research. A seasoned researcher, her work at L&M includes coordination and management of multi-year projects for federal clients, conducting primary data collection and qualitative research, and communicating and writing for a variety of audiences.
Ms. Szymanski’s experience spans many high-priority public health topics and focus populations, across 10 years working on projects for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and other federal clients. Currently, she leads the development and implementation of a learning community to support data access for Tribe-serving organizations. She also conducts interviews, analysis, and reporting on the experiences of Accountable Care Organization (ACO) leadership and providers. Other recent projects have included analysis of states’ Medicaid data collection and reporting; primary data collection related to maternal health care delivery and outcomes; and public comment review for CMS rulemaking cycles.
Prior to joining L&M, Ms. Szymanski was a Project Manager at Arbor Research Collaborative for Health, where she managed and contributed to several multi-year CMS projects related to end-stage kidney disease, dialysis, home health, and population health. She has also held positions at the University of Michigan Health System supporting cardiac surgeons, and the University of Michigan Institute for Social Research, where she helped implement a US Department of Defense-funded large-scale survey of mental health among military personnel.
Ms. Szymanski holds a Bachelor of Arts in sociology and political science from the University of Michigan.
