Director
Monica Sarmiento, M.A., is a Director at L&M Policy Research. Ms. Sarmiento brings ample experience in the areas of project management, health care research, and quality assurance processes. She has conducted consumer research in English and Spanish with a variety of audiences including Medicare beneficiaries and caregivers, dual-eligible beneficiaries, coming-of-agers, parents, and caregivers of children under the age of 19, Health Insurance Marketplace consumers, and information intermediaries such health care providers, administrators, and employers. She currently participants in research informing the enhancement of Healthcare.gov and CuidadoDeSalud.gov. Ms. Sarmiento also participated in numerous consumer-facing qualitative tasks aimed at improving Medicare beneficiaries’ understanding of health plan quality and choice and at informing the Medicare Fraud and Open Enrollment campaigns in Spanish and English. For the Alzheimer's Association, she conducted formative research to explore perceptions, attitudes, and behavior around brain health and an early detection.
Ms. Sarmiento holds a Master of Arts in Applied Sociology from American University in Washington, D.C.
