Research Assistant
Isabella Smith, M.P.H., is a research assistant at L&M Policy Research. Ms. Smith has experience conducting quantitative health policy research to evaluate the impact of federal, state, and local policy decisions on a variety of health and economic outcomes.
At L&M, she provides support assessing the feasibility of estimating eligibility for means-tested Medicare programs. She also supports an ongoing, multiyear evaluation of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS)’s Home Health Value-Based Purchasing Model. Prior to joining L&M, she was a Graduate Research Assistant in Tulane University’s Department of Health Policy and Management, where she used Louisiana Medicaid claims to assess the state’s behavioral health workforce capacity. She also contributed to a project that used commercial health insurance claims to evaluate the impact of paid sick leave laws on preventive health service usage.
Ms. Smith holds a M.P.H. from Tulane University in health policy and a B.S. from Tulane University in public health and economics.
